I can not but condemn the violence that is coming from different sides. It is truly a terrible sight, a very difficult sight to see a person who has fallen to the ground being kicked in the face, and this can not be justified in any way and under any circumstances, but at the same time, if we want a little objectivity, we must also note that the initiator of the violence is not one, two, five or ten, but several hundred demonstrators, - said the leader of the parliamentary majority, Mamuka Mdinaradze.
He also thanked the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its personnel, each police officer, who, according to Mdinaradze, serve their country with great patience and by performing their professional duties with utmost accuracy and honesty.
“In this case, despite the hard work they did yesterday and the day before, they are trying to tolerate all the physical and verbal abuse that is being directed at them by the demonstrators, and at the same time, they are still carrying out their professional activities with utmost sincerity.
Also, I can not help but condemn the violence that comes from different sides. It is truly a terrible sight, a very difficult sight, when a person who has fallen and fallen, whoever he is and whatever he was doing 5 or 10 minutes or an hour before this incident, kicks a person who has fallen in the face, and this can not be justified in any way or under any circumstances, but at the same time, if we want to be a little objective, we should also note that the initiator of the violence is not one, two, five or ten, but several hundred demonstrators. They start the violence without even trying to contain it. People came directly for violence. They didn't even set a stage to address anyone, they came directly for violence. They threw pyrotechnics, various fireworks, stones, bottles filled with pebbles, construction materials, etc. in the faces of police officers. And this was incredible violence, which was systemic in nature and was carried out by several hundred people. Unlike other, very serious cases, when we were also dealing with condemnable and very poorly developed events. Among them, the fact of kicking a fallen person in the face was especially serious. The person practically damaged the interests of his colleagues. No matter how insulting it was 5 minutes ago to your friend or to you personally, there are hundreds and thousands of police officers there who approach their work with great patience, one or two facts should not damage their image. To put everything else aside, on the one hand, such an action has no justification, on the other hand, it damages the Georgian state, it damages the image of all other police officers, and therefore, the image of thousands of police officers should not be damaged by one wrong action. Therefore, we distance ourselves from and condemn all kinds of violence, no matter who it is directed against. I would add, of course, that it is especially immoral when it is directed against a police officer, journalist, cameramen or any other person, and this is a frequent and in some cases even very difficult to see," said Mdinaradze.
