President: I will have a council made up of civil society and political parties, we will be a transitional force, but we need to reach new elections

I will have a council made up of civil society and political parties, we will be a transitional force, but we need to reach the new elections, - said the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili in an interview with France 24.

"None of Georgia's democratic partners recognized these elections, and this is very important. They are sending a technical mission that will help us prepare for new elections.

Today I will talk to [Poland's] President Duda, and tomorrow I will talk to the newly elected representatives of the European Commission, and in these days I will talk to all my colleagues.

I will remain the main and legitimate contact of our American and European partners, since there is no other legitimate power in Georgia. I will have a council of civil society and political parties with me. We will be a transitional, stable force in this country, but we need to reach the elections, because there is no question of maintaining something transitional that will not receive the legitimate support of the Georgian society.

As for my voice, which is my only strength - this is the truth - it is clear that this is the only voice that the population of Georgia wants to hear today, and today I am probably the most popular independent political figure in this country and I intend to remain loyal to this population," Zurabishvili said.
