French Minister for European Affairs: Georgian government bears full responsibility for suspension of EU accession talks - repression against protestors must stop

The Georgian government bears full responsibility for the suspension of accession talks with the European Union, - the French Minister for European Affairs, Benjamin Haddad, wrote about this on social networks.

According to him, "the repressions" against the participants of the demonstration must stop.

"Together with our European partners, France will continue to maintain close ties with the Georgian population and support their European aspirations. Fundamental freedoms, political pluralism and civil society must be protected. The repressions against the participants of the demonstration must stop", - the French minister wrote on X.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili responded to the minister's statement on social networks and said that "Georgia appreciates the support of France and its European partners. The Georgian people will not give up!".
