"Georgian Dream" and the government have taken many steps to tell the Europeans that they no longer want to be in Europe, said Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis in Brussels when asked about the Georgian government's suspension of negotiations with the European Union until the end of 2028.

"First of all, the decision itself, these are words, but before that there was a case. As you know, sometimes it is a word, but the "Georgian Dream" and the government have taken many steps to tell the Europeans that they no longer want to be in Europe. They did a lot of things before they said what they were trying to do. They are trying to divert Georgia from the path to the European Union. To tell the truth, I am not surprised, this is a natural result of what they have been doing so far," said Gabrielius Landsbergis.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania also spoke about the sanctions imposed by the Baltic States, according to which Bidzina Ivanishvili, Vakhtang Gomelauri and other persons were banned from entering the Baltic States.

"As for the sanctions, I believe that the level of violence used against the demonstrators is unacceptable and this is not the first case. I think there should be at least a message and I'm glad that the Baltic countries have agreed on a certain list that was announced, and I know it's symbolic, but I hope it will be an impetus for other EU allies to do the same," said the Lithuanian Foreign Minister.

Gabrielius Landsbergis also answered the question about additional measures and possible suspension of visa liberalization.

"Similar decisions are made at the European level. We are constantly discussing this, and I am glad that the issue of Georgia will be fully discussed at the next meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council, and I know that the new High Representative, Kaya Kalasi, is ready to present options, options that can be presented in this direction. Lithuania will support additional measures in this regard", said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
