The Special Investigation Service responds to the appeal of President Zurabishvili regarding the summoning of the head of the agency, Koka Katsitadze.

As "InterpressNews" was told by the investigation service, "they plan to inform the public about the progress of the investigation started by the service in the near future, therefore, all interested persons will be informed as well."

"In the special investigation service, in November/December of this year, during the action in the territory adjacent to the parliament, law enforcement officers overstepped their official authority by violence against the participants of the action and representatives of the media and illegally obstructed journalists in their professional activities, according to the third part of Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Georgia under subsection "b" and Article 154 According to the 2nd part, the investigation is being conducted in an active mode.

The service plans to inform the public about the progress of the investigation in the near future. Accordingly, all interested persons will be informed," the service said.

For information, the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili summons the head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze, to a meeting.

As Zurabishvili writes on "Facebook", today's footage proves the need for an urgent investigation.

"Due to the existing situation, I will call the head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze, to the meeting... However, my administration cannot be contacted. This is the agency that is directly responsible for the detection and investigation of the facts of violence by law enforcement agencies.

The footage that we have been seeing these days confirms the need for an urgent investigation," the President says.
