"Such attitudes are welcome. Do you remember when your colleague asked me, when you published your exclusive about Trump's victory, why were you happy? That's why we are happy. Well, the answer in a few days in the statements of the representatives of his [Trump's] team, in the statements of people who create a climate in the modern civilized world with their statements. Among them, in relation to the democratic beginnings, among them, in relation to conservative, correct, traditional values, in relation to technologies," the leader of the Georgian parliamentary team, the executive secretary of the ruling party, Mamuka Mdinaradze, said.
As Mdinaradze mentioned, for him Elon Musk is a unique synthesis of tradition and modernity, and his statements are much more valuable than those of specific bureaucrats. However, according to his own statement, it is welcome that the future US administration has a positive attitude towards the "Georgian Dream" on two principle issues - family, traditional values and transparency of foreign funding.
"My personal emotion is, for example, for me, Musk is associated with conservatism, tradition and the most solid, unique synthesis of modernity - I personally have this attitude, therefore, his statement is much more valuable than, say, someone Kubilius. Therefore, it is welcome that we had the main axis of our principled attitude on two things: one - family, traditional values and the other - it was transparency. For one and the other, as soon as the results of the [Georgian parliamentary] elections were announced, the very next day, several of our European colleagues started talking about it and directly pointed out in their statements that you repealed the "Transparency Law", repealed the law against LGBT propaganda, and let's talk about the rest later, they directly told us, Practically, they didn't hide it anymore. And how can we not be happy when the US administration, which has been operating since January 20, and its entourage, are talking about one and the other in a positive context, just like us," said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
According to him, the ruling party of Georgia was accused of fighting with the EU and the USA only because they did not agree with certain bureaucrats of the Biden administration on the issues mentioned above. Mdinaradze also confirmed his desire for friendship and close cooperation with Europe and America, which would approve the banning of LGBT propaganda in schools.
"Isn't it gratifying that the protection of traditional values comes as a message from such a great superpower? I'm very sorry, those from the Biden administration thought the opposite, if we criticized them - that's why they were slandering us as if we were fighting the West, the USA and the European Union. No, we want this kind of Europe, we want friendship and close cooperation with this kind of America, which does not oppress us and fight with any of its bureaucrats because we do not allow LGBT propaganda in school, but on the contrary - they will like this behavior and have the same opinion. This is especially true when we talk about Europe, which is the most precious and valuable for us. That's why we speak: with dignity in Europe," Mamuka Mdinaradze said.
For reference, Vivek Ramaswamy, on X, responded to a post about NED's work in Georgia and Syria, noting: "We need to check US government funding for 'NGOs', Americans deserve transparency on opaque foreign aid and non-profit groups." Elon Musk also agreed with the same opinion.
