Ana Natsvlishvili: the self-proclaimed regime commits international crimes - we appeal to the Council of Europe and the two relevant bodies of the United Nations, whose mandate is to respond to cases of torture and inhuman treatment

The self-proclaimed regime commits international crimes, including international criminal law crimes, one of the leaders of the "Strong Georgia" coalition, Ana Natsvlishvili, said at a joint briefing of the opposition parties.

According to her, all international instruments will be used to "punish every perpetrator and punish the officials of this self-styled regime".

"A working format was created by 4 pro-Western political actors a couple of days ago, the task of which is that none of the violence against the citizens of Georgia committed by the Russian self-proclaimed illegitimate regime should go unpunished. At this stage, we have identified thousands of victims who became victims not only of Georgian law, but also of international crimes. The self-proclaimed regime commits international crimes, including international criminal law. commits a crime stipulated by a number of international conventions. Therefore, we will leave no opportunity, no international instrument, that we will not use to punish each and every perpetrator and to punish the officials of this self-styled regime, who give orders to torture people, to repress them, and to persecute people for patriotic, political reasons.

Today we address the Council of Europe and the UN, two relevant bodies whose mandate is to respond to cases of torture and inhuman treatment with specific evidence, specific victims and specific perpetrators. This will continue. Every citizen of Georgia should have hope that after the new elections, as soon as the law and the constitution are restored in the country, these people who are doing violence today will be held accountable before Georgian justice. Until then, since the self-styled government suspended the operation of the law and the constitution, we go by international law. We will use this mechanism to protect the citizens of Georgia," said Natsvlishvili.
