According to the decision of the ruling team, in the case of cigarettes, the excise tax will be increased, and in the case of gaming business, the profit tax will be increased. The executive secretary of "Georgian Dream", Mamuka Mdinaradze, announced this after the end of the majority meeting.

According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, the changes in the "Tax Law" are also important from the point of view of raising budgetary funds.

"The management team made a decision to introduce a change in the tax code, to increase the price of the excise tax on cigarettes and IQOS, which will be 15 tetris in the case of IQOS, and 20 tetris in the case of cigarettes.

It is also very important that the profit tax on the organizers of the games increases by 5%. Just as banks have tax regulations regarding profits, the same will apply to gaming business, online casinos.

According to the Estonian model, this business was exempted from such tax. Certain risks should be reduced, especially with regard to youth. The other kind of solution did not give us the result we expected. Also, from the point of view of raising budgetary funds, this is a very important change", said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
