Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated during a briefing: "Under Mikheil Kavelashvili's presidency, the institution of the president will return to its constitutional mission and regain its dignity. I want to wish Mikheil Kavelashvili success in his position as the President of Georgia."
The Prime Minister emphasized that Kavelashvili's election to this crucial position would significantly contribute to strengthening Georgia's statehood and sovereignty.
"I want to congratulate Mikheil Kavelashvili on being elected President of Georgia. I am confident that his election to this important position will make a significant contribution to strengthening Georgia’s statehood, our sovereignty, as well as reducing radicalism in the country and decreasing so-called polarization.
For more than 20 years, Georgia has not had a president who is both patriotic and psychologically balanced. In this regard, Mikheil Kavelashvili's presidency will be a turning point for our country. The main mission of the institution of the presidency is to care for the unity of the country and society, and as you know, over the years, external forces have used the president’s office precisely to divide society. Additionally, the institution of the president was used to artificially weaken our constitutional order. For this purpose, the constitution of Georgia was systematically violated using the president, and these external forces directly supported such actions," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
