The President addressed the protesters: We don’t want ‘Salome, Salome,’ nor ‘Thank you, thank you.’ We are all here together for two reasons – for peace and for justice, which require new elections!

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili addressed the protestors on Rustaveli Avenue, stating: "If there is no justice in this country, there will be no peace, which everyone wants. For peace and justice to exist, new elections are needed. We are here for that reason, calmly, peacefully, and without disorder."

She also clarified, "We don’t want questions, and we don’t want ‘Salome, Salome,’ or ‘Thank you, thank you.’ We are all here together for two reasons."

Regarding Tamar Machavariani, she spoke about the detained and injured individuals at the protest, expressing concern for the children who had been arrested or hurt, saying: "As the mother of Gega Kobakhidze, I am troubled by the children who have been arrested, beaten, and tortured. What I’ve been through, I wouldn’t want any mother to go through. Stay strong and well, we are with you."
