Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze commented on the sanctions imposed by Estonia on 14 Georgian officials, including Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, stating that they pose no issues and describing them as a temporary process.
“These sanctions are not a problem at all. This is a temporary process; everything will change, everything will settle, and we will have a different world and Europe,” Kaladze said in response to media questions.
According to Kaladze, the current geopolitical challenges will come to an end after January 20, when the new U.S. administration takes office, which he believes will lead to significant changes in the global, European, and Georgian political landscapes.
“This is a continuation of the dirty policies we have been witnessing over the past months and years. It’s clear what kind of forces are fighting against Georgia. However, everything will end. After January 20, when a new administration starts work in the U.S., the situation in the world, Europe, and Georgia will radically change.
Sanctions are not a problem at all. They are temporary. Everything will change, everything will settle. A different world and Europe will emerge. The Europe that we Georgians envision, the Europe that most Georgians strive for, will return—the Europe we want to see.
What is happening today has nothing to do with European values. Today represents the peak of injustice, the pinnacle of manipulation. They try to convince us that black is white, throwing dust in our eyes. But this will end, and the fair Europe that our country aspires to will return,” Kaladze stated.
