Giorgi Vashadze: The act committed against me is assessed as an attempted murder under the Criminal Code - there has been no reaction from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, I personally accuse Bidzina Ivanishvili

The act committed against me is assessed as an attempted murder under the Criminal Code - there has been no reaction from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which clearly indicates that the orderer of all this is Ivanishvili's regime and that I personally accuse Bidzina Ivanishvili, - Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Builder, stated at a press conference regarding the attack on him on Rustaveli Avenue yesterday.

According to Vashadze, he has already identified the attacker.

"Yesterday, at 22:20, I was on Rustaveli Avenue, together with peaceful demonstrators, when I was physically attacked by a person who had a sharp screwdriver in his hand. He physically attacked me from behind. First, I was hit in the back with this screwdriver, then in the head and throat with this object, which we managed to seize. With the help of protesters, this person was repelled.

His [the attacker’s] key was also seized, which also contains an elevator chip, which personally identifies this person. This is Davit Edisherashvili, born in 1976, living in Vazisubani. He is the one who is shown in the video footage. The act committed against me is assessed as attempted murder under the Criminal Code, because he repeatedly tried to hit me with a screwdriver in such a way as to cause serious harm, including in the throat. After that, this person ran away. A notification was immediately sent to 112 by the protesters. We waited for an hour and a half for someone to arrive, after which an investigator contacted me, who said that he would arrive at the scene in 10 minutes. About 10 minutes later, the same person contacted me along with another person, who told me that he did not intend to come to the scene, which is a violation of the law. Moreover, there were patrol police crews several dozen meters away. None of them responded. After that, I went to the medical facility to register the injuries. The injuries include open wounds to the parts of the head, as well as open wounds to the cheek and temporal lower jaw. This is the conclusion from the medical facility. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was also notified of this incident from there, but no one showed up. During my speech, several people like "Titushky" were gathering near the medical facility.

I am telling all these facts because the actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clearly indicate that the orderer of all this is the Ivanishvili regime, and I personally accuse Bidzina Ivanishvili, the person who issues these criminal orders and who carries out these criminal orders through the law enforcement agencies.

If we look at the broader picture, today in Georgia criminal groups are operating together with law enforcement agencies, who beat people, journalists. They detain with false testimonies and bring to criminal responsibility actors, public figures, various famous people, or simply individuals who are fighting for the bright future of the country. I would like to tell Bidzina Ivanishvili that we will not be intimidated by this, on the contrary - we will fight with redoubled forces for your personal removal from this country as soon as possible, because you are the bringer of chaos and disorder. You are a person who is violent towards young people, journalists, actors, and people who openly and directly demand from you to immediately release all detained prisoners and call new elections in this country. We will not back down a single step until you are removed from this country, because the main problem of this country is a specific person - Bidzina Ivanishvili. I do not care about anyone else, neither Kobakhidze nor any other person. All the orders to commit the crimes we are facing come from him personally,” Vashadze said.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident is being investigated under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to violence.
