Levan Khabeishvili: It must be clear to the public that financial sanctions from the United Kingdom mean, for instance, that soon even Georgian banks may not serve Gomelauri, and if they have hidden assets anywhere, they will no longer have access to them in the near future, - said the member of United National Movement during a briefing.
Khabeishvili stated that financial sanctions would continue, targeting high-ranking officials in law enforcement agencies.
"A dark cloud has gathered over the Russian oligarch’s Russian regime. We have seen the UK’s statement declaring that so-called Minister Gomelauri and his deputies are under sanctions, specifically financial ones.
The public must understand that UK financial sanctions imply that Gomelauri will soon be unable to use Georgian banks. If he or others have hidden property elsewhere, they will lose access to it as well. Moreover, the statement clarified that these sanctions were issued in coordination with the United States, further confirming that these sanctions will continue.
I want to warn the current officeholders—Kupatadze, Siradze, Memanishvili, and other so-called high-ranking law enforcement officials: you’ve gone too far, dark days are ahead, and you will definitely be next. You will inevitably fall under these sanctions," Khabeishvili said.
He also claimed that Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and his business partner are attempting to register a business in the United States, but according to Khabeishvili, they are also on the sanctions list.
"I want to share information with the public regarding the Mayor of Tbilisi and his business partner, Tsulaia, who are trying to register a construction business in Florida, USA, transferring stolen Georgian property there. Kakha Kaladze and Tsulaia, you need to understand—this won’t work. You cannot suppress democracy and freedom here, endorse torture and inhumane treatment, rob the Georgian people, and then start a business in Florida. It won’t happen! You are also in the line for sanctions.
I also call on members of the Business Association—leave this dubious association. If you haven’t spoken up yet, I urge you to raise your voice!" Khabeishvili emphasized.
