In today's situation, we needed a government that would take advantage of the geopolitical situation, threats, and opportunities to move forward. Instead, they created a crisis themselves, – said Giga Bokeria, the founder of the "Federation" party, during the PalitraNews program "Free Studio."
According to Bokeria, the task set by the Georgian Dream, which includes resolving the crisis, is treacherous.
"This crisis was created by Ivanishvili's regime at every stage, and after that, they further deepened it, increased the risks, provoked violence, and committed violence in a horrendous manner – all of this is the result of this government’s actions.
Despite the catastrophic behavior of Ivanishvili's regime at every stage, the West was interested in geopolitical integration, meaning they granted candidate status to Georgia after the so-called Russian law was enacted and later repealed. This happened after the crisis they caused, which went against the conditions set by the European Union.
They also created this situation with Georgian society by their audacity when the police, along with criminal elements, attack people in this manner.
They hope that with a change in government, they will no longer face problems in some Western country, especially the main leading country. They tell the people, 'Don't worry, they will no longer be interested in us after this.' They don't tell them that they will solve our national problems. No, they tell them – don't be afraid, people, they are pressuring us now, but later, they will disregard our country. Their goal is treacherous. Our national goal is not for someone to take our government down. How can we be satisfied as a country if someone shakes hands with our government?
In this situation, we needed a government that would take advantage of the geopolitical situation, threats, and opportunities to move forward. Instead, they created the crisis themselves," Bokeria stated.
Bokeria also pointed out that politicians in the European Union who make supportive statements about Georgian Dream are, according to their narrative, supporting the Russian cause. The opposition politician assessed that these people support the idea of keeping this entire region within Russia's sphere of influence.
"If we look at the government's propaganda organs, their spokespeople's speeches, they quote certain members of the political Western class. If we look at who they use for their propaganda – all these people, in one form or another, are supporters of Russia, some more so than others. They are supporters of the idea of keeping this entire region within Russia's influence. This is very dangerous for Georgia. The people who carry this idea are their preferred spokespeople today.
People watch some propaganda channel and see a Western politician, and they may not know that this politician's support for Georgian Dream, which is marginal there, is linked to messages that are directly against us, such as saying that NATO and EU expansion was wrong – which is exactly what Russia wants and what Ivanishvili's regime is saying, they are repeating it one to one.
In this flood of contradictory messages, they shout 'We want Europe and open the door for us,' and in the next moment, they say that the West is a threat because it started a war in Ukraine, and in 2008 it started a war in Georgia. This lie must be constantly exposed with facts, not just our assessments.
As many people as possible must realize that under this government, we will either face a very deepening crisis or something worse, and the idea that something will stabilize cannot be a solution for Georgia. This may be a temporary solution for Ivanishvili, but our national interest is to be protected, secure, free, and in the space that is called the free world," concluded Giga Bokeria.
