I would like to convey the result of my address to the European Parliament. This is the overwhelming support from the European Parliamentarians to the Georgian population - everyone understands that if there are no new elections and the people are not given the opportunity to regain their future and their voice, this situation will continue like this and we will enter a deeper crisis, - Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili stated at the briefing.
As Zurabishvili stated while summing up her visit to Strasbourg, everyone has a desire to support the Georgian people in their difficult but very peaceful struggle.
“I returned last night from Strasbourg, where I had an address to the European Parliament. I would like to convey to you the result of this address - this is the overwhelming support from the European Parliamentarians to the Georgian population. Everyone understands it very well, I think there is nothing much to explain. I tend to explain and explain, but everyone understands what is happening in Georgia today and what the illegitimate government is trying to do by stopping the people's voice, the people's protest, and turn this situation around. But everyone understands that if there are no new elections and the people are not given the opportunity to regain their future and their voice, this situation will continue like this and we will enter a deeper crisis, a deadlock. Therefore, everyone has a desire to support the Georgian people in this difficult, but very peaceful struggle," Zurabishvili stated.
