I believe the OSCE/ODIHR report demonstrates that there is no basis for questioning the election results, said Georgian Foreign Affairs Minister Maka Bochorishvili while commenting on the final conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR report.
According to her, it is not surprising that the report reflects positions previously expressed by the opposition.
Bochorishvili noted that the opposition's goal was to discredit the elections and subsequently cast doubt on the election results.
"The OSCE/ODIHR report, which the Georgian public has been awaiting for weeks or months, has been published. The report thoroughly evaluates the pre-election environment, election day itself, and the post-election period. It largely aligns with the statements already made by OSCE/ODIHR in its preliminary assessments of the elections. However, this report more broadly includes recommendations provided to the authorities to address the shortcomings observed during the election process. The report highlights that everyone had the opportunity to participate in the elections. The organization of the elections is also positively assessed.
Of course, it is neither surprising nor unexpected that the report includes positions that were voiced by the opposition. You will recall the pre-election and election periods, as well as the post-election phase. The opposition's goal was never to participate fairly in these elections or to acknowledge the results. Their efforts were aimed at discrediting the elections and later questioning the results. However, I believe this report confirms that there is no basis for raising such questions about the election results," Bochorishvili stated to "Public Broadcaster."
