Tina Khidasheli: The OSCE report is catastrophic, extremely negative, and highly critical. Not a single parameter by which elections are evaluated has been assessed as successful, positive, or fair

The OSCE has published a report that is catastrophic, extremely negative, and highly critical. Not a single parameter by which elections are evaluated is assessed as successful, positive, or fair, former Defense Minister Tina Khidasheli stated.

Khidasheli was at the Orbeliani Palace alongside other representatives of opposition political parties and non-governmental organizations, meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili. The topic of discussion was the OSCE/ODIHR report.

According to Khidasheli, more decisive actions must now be taken swiftly.

“Until now, everyone was waiting for the OSCE report. Both domestically and internationally, the EU and the U.S. were saying the final report would be released, and then we’d read and analyze it. The OSCE has now published this report, which is catastrophic, extremely negative, and highly critical. Not a single word or parameter in the report evaluates the elections as successful, positive, or fair. Naturally, after this, there is no theoretical basis for anyone to claim anything positive about these elections or to argue their legitimacy.

The release of the OSCE report has already elicited reactions from several European states. Today's meeting aimed to address the urgency of the situation; movement must now be much faster to bring this illegitimacy process to an end. Elections must be called so that peace can be restored, and the country can finally return to the path of development, European integration, and progress that we should have been on over the past year,” Khidasheli said.
