PACE President: The direct threat PM Irakli Kobakhidze made today against President Zourabichvili is unacceptable

The direct threat PM Irakli Kobakhidze made today against President Zourabichvili to imprison her when her term of office expires on 29 December is unacceptable, - Theodoros Rousopoulos, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, said.

“I wish to remind the PM Kobakhidze that his country is a member of the Council of Europe. The direct threat he made today against Zourabichvili to imprison her when her term of office expires on 29 December is unacceptable, contrary to the principles of democracy and the rule of law”, he tweeted.

He called on Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to withdraw this statement and join the principles of the Council of Europe, which he must respect.
