Giorgi Vashadze: The OSCE/ODIHR report confirmed that the elections must be held again – we support the statement of Georgia’s President, Salome Zurabishvili

The OSCE/ODIHR report confirmed that the elections must be held again. There is no component that would render these elections legitimate, and therefore, we join the statement of Georgia’s President, Salome Zurabishvili, said Giorgi Vashadze, leader of "Strategy Aghmashenebeli," during a joint briefing of opposition parties.

According to Vashadze, the presidential institution is the only legitimate body in the country, and they are ready to work with the President to agree on the date and conditions for new elections.

“The election date must be set as soon as possible. We are prepared to reach an agreement on the election date and specific conditions through the only legitimate institution. The unprecedented protests clearly confirm this. The international response to the OSCE/ODIHR report further underscores that these elections are not considered legitimate, not just by us but by no one internationally.

As a result, ‘Georgian Dream’ has stepped outside the constitutional framework. To bring Georgia back within constitutional boundaries, new elections must be held. Additionally, detained demonstrators must be released, and all criminal cases against protesters must be terminated,” Vashadze stated.
