Giorgi Vashadze: I am telling Bidzina Ivanishvili to think carefully—we will establish our firm stance and will not consider any option other than new elections

Giorgi Vashadze: "I am telling Bidzina Ivanishvili to think carefully while there is still time. You promised peace, but have brought chaos to this country. The only way to calm this country down is by releasing political prisoners and holding new elections. We will establish our firm position, and we will not consider any other option than new elections. This is what I am saying to him."

Vashadze also mentioned that the opposition party meeting would include a representative from President Salome Zourabichvili's office, and the main topics of discussion would be new elections, sanctions, and the conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR report.

"New elections must be held as soon as possible, as President Zourabichvili has stated. The details and timing will be part of the discussion. We will also discuss very important steps from the international community—sanctions and the OSCE/ODIHR report, which has ended all speculations. We will discuss these matters, and it is crucial that the president's representative is present at this meeting so that in the end, we have our position documented for any potential negotiations, as President Zourabichvili mentioned.

As for the official position of the ruling 'Georgian Dream' party, I haven't heard it, which clearly shows they need to think. The situation in the country is different now. Kobakhidze couldn’t even manage a briefing at 11:00 AM today, which is good. I am telling Bidzina Ivanishvili, think carefully while there is still time. You promised peace, but have brought chaos to this country. The only way to calm the situation is through the release of political prisoners and new elections. We will establish our firm position, and we will not consider any other option than new elections," Vashadze said.
