Tina Bokuchava: "The first step toward achieving results is demonstrating unity—I hope the President’s institution and the parties can meet the primary public demand"

"The first step that must be taken to achieve results is precisely to show unity and to establish a unified format. I hope that both the President’s institution and the parties will be able to fulfill the main public demand," said Tina Bokuchava, Chairperson of the United National Movement, during her statement to the media at the start of the meeting between the President and the opposition.

According to Bokuchava, opposition unity should be formed "under the umbrella of the President's institution."

"The most important demand from the public is opposition unity, and unity under the umbrella of the President's institution. This is because it is the only legitimate institution remaining in Georgia under the illegitimate, Russian-backed regime of Ivanishvili.

To restore the constitutional framework and normalize the political process, it is crucial to transform the primary public demand into political outcomes with a unified stance. These outcomes must include, first and foremost, the release of political prisoners and the scheduling of new elections. These elections should not be conducted by Ivanishvili’s Russian-backed regime or its extensions, such as the State Security Service, the Central Election Commission, or any other controlled agencies, but under the conditions of an independent electoral administration and institutions," Bokuchava stated.
