Giorgi Vashadze: "We are witnessing a constitutional coup, an illegitimate self-proclaimed government—a junta seated in power. I am ready to take responsibility for any decision supported by the people"

"The situation is as follows: we are facing a constitutional coup, an unlawful self-proclaimed government, a force that is not legitimate power—a junta comfortably seated in office. Personally, I am ready to take responsibility for implementing any decision supported by the people," said Giorgi Vashadze, leader of Strategy Aghmashenebeli, to journalists ahead of a meeting with the President at the Presidential Administration.

Vashadze emphasized that he is prepared to share responsibility for every decision made within a collective framework and to ensure their implementation.

"The only legitimate institution is Salome Zurabishvili, as the President of Georgia, and I am ready to assume responsibility before the people for the implementation of every decision made in this format.

Unity, unity, and once again, unity—whatever decision we make, it must be unconditionally implemented by everyone. The firmer and more decisive our positions and decisions are, the more I lean towards and support such proposals or actions," Vashadze stated, adding that by firm decisions, he means actions such as calling for elections or even dissolving Parliament.
