"We discussed the council that will be composed of politicians, and the president is likely to form a public council as well. This council will lead the decision-making process," said Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, speaking to the media after the meeting between the president and the opposition.
According to Gvaramia, certain ideas about the council and the foundational document have already been developed.
"By December 29, we will likely reach agreements on what we mean by democratic elections and the conditions that cannot, under any circumstances, be renegotiated. The election results must be legitimate and not some trap set by Bidzina Ivanishvili, which we might fall into. This will not happen, and Georgia's president will take the lead on this matter.
We discussed the council, which will consist of politicians, and the president is also likely to form a public council. However, this is not currently up for our discussion—it is entirely up to her. This council will be at the forefront of decision-making. Naturally, we had already been working on this, as had the president, and agreements will be reached on this matter. Certain ideas about the council and the foundational document have been formed today," Gvaramia stated.
Regarding Ana Dolidze's statement that "We are ready to remain at the Orbeliani Palace after December 29 and declare it the sole place where Georgia’s legitimate President will reside," Gvaramia expressed full agreement.
"Support for the president will be massive; I am fully convinced of this. It is up to her how this all unfolds. Personally, I fully support everything Ana Dolidze has said," Gvaramia stated.
When asked whether the discussion on December 29 at the Orbeliani Palace involves only the presence of politicians or representatives from other fields as well, Gvaramia responded: "At this moment, political parties have received the proposal, but we are aware that representatives from all sectors will be invited."
