"When you accept funding based on the election results, you thereby acknowledge the legitimacy of the election," stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, responding to the Central Election Commission's (CEC) announcement. According to the CEC, six political parties will receive funding based on the parliamentary election results, with only the party "Coalition for Change – Gvaramia, Melia, Girchi, Droa" declining the funds.
The Prime Minister emphasized that out of the four parties that crossed the electoral threshold, three have recognized the election results.
"Out of the four threshold-crossing parties, three have recognized the election results today, with the exception of Gvaramia's party. Additionally, two other parties, which did not cross the threshold but were entitled to funding, have also recognized the election results. By accepting funding based on the election, you acknowledge the legitimacy of the election," said Irakli Kobakhidze on the program Imedi LIVE.
Based on the parliamentary election results, six political parties will receive state funding. According to the CEC, as stipulated by the law, beginning November 26—the day after the recognition of the newly elected Parliament's authority—seven political entities qualified for state funding based on the October 26 parliamentary election results.
