Berdia Sichinava: Political finances are not related to granting legitimacy - If Kobakhidze and the "Georgian Dream" need legitimacy, they should turn to Assad, Maduro, and Lukashenko, or to Mcharashvili dressed as Santa Claus

Berdia Sichinava, the executive secretary of the "Gakharia for Georgia" party, writes on social media that political finances are not related to granting legitimacy to anyone or anything. If Kobakhidze and "Georgian Dream" need legitimacy (which they will never have), they should turn to Assad, Maduro, and Lukashenko, or to Mcharashvili dressed as Santa Claus from the "opposition."

He states that budgetary funding is not a "mercy" from Ivanishvili, and that this money belongs to the voters, as it was obtained for them.

"Since we are watching a reckless and dirty campaign, I am forced, at this difficult time, to say something about party funding:

Political finances are not related to granting legitimacy to anyone or anything; if Kobakhidze and 'Georgian Dream' need legitimacy (which they will never have), they should turn to Assad, Maduro, and Lukashenko, or to Mcharashvili dressed as Santa Claus from the 'opposition';

Budgetary funding is not Ivanishvili's mercy, which many 'opposition' figures have benefited from in the past, and according to sources, some are still not complaining about their luck;

This money belongs to our voters, it has been earned, and it is up to these people to decide what and how things will be - the party is only accountable to them - this is not a salary or privilege for anyone in the party;

We are the only party that has never had an oligarch, large capital, hidden sponsors, TV channels, or dirty, opaque money behind it. We have come this far with clean hands, despite having liens on our accounts for several years. However, we have not bowed our heads in the fight against the regime that has particularly persecuted and oppressed our party.

We have no hidden obligations to anyone, and no one will ever be able to influence our politics - this is our strength - transparency and openness, which makes every one of our team members proud and strengthens them in this unequal battle, in which we will win with the Georgian people, with clean hands.

Ask yourself the only question if you are the one trying to divert attention from the main issue and causing division, dragging Kobakhidze's interview onto your wall and giving importance to his hysterical ramblings about legitimacy - does it raise any doubts about good faith?

And finally, despite any attempts, no one and nothing can harm this struggle, and the victory of the people is inevitable!" - writes Sichinava.

For your information, according to the results of the October 26 parliamentary elections, the parties that overcame the electoral threshold received budgetary funding. Of the four opposition parties that passed the 5% threshold in parliament, only one party, "Coalition for Change," refused budgetary funding.
