Gitanas Nausėda: Georgia faces the risk of repeating the Belarusian scenario

"I recently spoke with the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili. I expressed deep concern about the democratic backsliding in Georgia," wrote Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda on the social platform X.

According to him, Georgia is facing the risk of repeating the Belarusian scenario.

"Georgia is at risk of repeating the Belarusian scenario. Lithuania firmly supports the European Parliament's resolution on holding democratic elections in Georgia. Lithuania stands firmly by the Georgian people on their path to the European Union. Suspending EU accession negotiations contradicts their will and pours water on Russia's mill," wrote the Lithuanian president.
