Mikheil Kavelashvili, who was elected as president by the electoral college in Parliament, took an oath on the Bible and the Constitution.
Kavelashvili attended the inaugural ceremony with his family members.
The event was attended by the honorary chairman of the "Georgian Dream" party, Bidzina Ivanishvili.
Members of the president's electoral college, which includes Parliament members, local government representatives, members of the Supreme Councils of Adjara and Abkhazia, the Georgian government, constitutional bodies, and representatives of the Georgian Orthodox Church, were invited to attend the inauguration and participate in the ceremony.
The diplomatic corps was not invited to the event.
The event concluded with a speech by Mikheil Kavelashvili. Before that, the national anthem of Georgia was performed.
