Joe Wilson: I have urged OSCE PA President Pia Kauma not to go to Tbilisi at this time

I have urged OSCE PA President Pia Kauma not to go to Tbilisi at this time, the Chairman of the US Helsinki Commission, Congressman Joe Wilson, writes on Platform X, where he posted a copy of the letter sent to Pia Kauma.

“I have urged OSCE PA President Pia Kauma NOT to go to Tbilisi at this time. The Ivanishvili regime will only use this visit as a means to legitimize their authoritarian takeover. US taxpayer money must not be used to recognize an illegitimate government”, he tweeted.

The US Congressman urges Pia Kauma to reconsider her planned visit to Georgia.

“I am deeply concerned that Georgian Dream would exploit any OSCE PA official engagement with its leaders under present circumstances to legitimize its tenuous grasp on power.

As a result, I respectfully request that you reconsider your planned trip,” reads the letter.
