The French Ambassador to Georgia: Emmanuel Macron emphasizes that new elections could be a solution to the political crisis

Emmanuel Macron emphasizes that new elections in Georgia could be a way out of the political crisis, French Ambassador to Georgia Sheraz Gasri wrote on social media.

"While Emmanuel Macron identifies supporting fighters for democracy and freedom as a priority of our foreign policy, he acknowledges the courage of the demonstrators and Salome Zurabishvili in Georgia and highlights that new elections could serve as a solution to the political crisis," the French Ambassador to Georgia stated.

For context, today, French President Emmanuel Macron held a meeting with French diplomats.

"In recent years, Russia has intensified its aggression and altered the nature of its aggression towards Europeans and other countries globally. In terms of nuclear doctrine, Russia's behavior has undergone a radical shift, becoming stricter, and its stance towards its neighbors has become significantly more aggressive. We saw this in Armenia, where Russia unexpectedly became Azerbaijan's ally, simply because the Armenians stood against it. Similarly, in Georgia, through destabilization of the electoral process and ballot manipulation," Emmanuel Macron said.
