Salome Zurabishvili: "There are not two Georgias; there is one Georgia, and there are people who have distanced themselves from Georgia with hatred and have become representatives of the regime. This regime will come to an end because, in every city, there are representatives of society who have chosen to love their homeland more than any political party," said Georgia's fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, during her speech at a rally in Zugdidi.
According to her, Russia is trying to instigate conflict in Georgia through the hands of a Russian-style regime, but "today, there are no two sides in Georgia."
"Russia is attempting, through the hands of a Russian regime, to once again bring conflict to Georgia. Today, there are no two sides in Georgia. There is the regime, and there is the society. There are no two sides. But there are people who protect this regime and take extreme, cruel measures to defend it.
Yesterday, there was a court session where completely innocent people stood trial, and the judge sitting there knows this. He knows that there was no group violence and no crime. They will be freed, just as the country will be freed. But there are individuals, including one woman—I don’t know if she’s a mother—who dared to write on social media about Andro Chichinadze’s mother: 'No matter how hard you try, you cannot be Irina Enukidze.' I have never heard such filth from any woman, any mother. This is the kind of evil that follows Russia's evil.
There are not two Georgias. There is one Georgia, and there are people who, through their behavior, language, and hatred, have distanced themselves from Georgia and become representatives of the regime. This regime will come to an end because in every city of Georgia, there are representatives of society who have once and for all chosen to love their country and homeland more than any political party. This is the new reality in this country, and anyone who desires the success and progress of this nation must accept it," stated Salome Zurabishvili.
