Salome Zurabishvili: More pressure from our European friends calling for new elections is a must

According to the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, the arrest and torture of demonstrators continue in parallel with the ongoing protests in Georgia.

“Day 45 demonstrations in major cities and back to repressions: arrests and torture, «tituchkebis» and deprival of medical assistance. More pressure from our European friends calling for new elections is a must”, she tweeted.

According to her, all detainees from previous protests have been kept in detention by last days court rulings without any legal or factual grounds.

“Judges are just implementing ruling party orders!” she said.

The 5th President also responded to the arrest of Batumelebi director, saying "Terror in Georgia. Arrests of journalists continue. Twice in one night!".
