The party "Gakharia for Georgia" has issued a statement regarding the attack on its leader, Giorgi Gakharia.

"Today in Batumi, a brutal, coordinated group attack organized by Ivanishvili's regime was carried out against Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the party 'Gakharia for Georgia' and former Prime Minister of Georgia.

Giorgi Gakharia was in Batumi to attend the court hearing concerning members of our party's youth organization, who are being unjustly persecuted," the statement reads.

The party demands an immediate and thorough investigation into the violent attack.

"The party 'Gakharia for Georgia' demands an immediate and thorough investigation into this violent attack organized by Ivanishvili's regime and calls for accountability for all responsible individuals. This politically motivated attack is a blatant attempt to intimidate the opposition and suppress dissenting voices. Such actions will never silence those fighting for Georgia's democratic and European future," the statement shared on X reads.
