If sanctions are imposed against Bidzina Ivanishvili, it will be clearly demonstrated that the “deep state” has reduced Great Britain to the level of Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia and the European Parliament, which should be considered an exceptionally tragic event, - reads the statement of the Georgian Dream political council.

The statement expresses “extreme concern” that a country like Great Britain has been turned into “just another pawn” by the “deep state,” aka the global war party, “just like Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and the European Parliament.”

“As is known, fourteen MPs submitted a motion to the British House of Commons to sanction Bidzina Ivanishvili. This initiative was preceded by the sanctioning of Vakhtang Gomelauri and other high-ranking officials of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs by Great Britain.

The Georgian society is well aware that historically, Great Britain has always stood out as a strong, sovereign and progressive state, where the idea of ​​the rule of law and fundamental human rights developed. It was in England that fundamental procedural rights arose, and specifically, the right to a fair trial, according to which, before imposing a sanction on a person, he must be provided with a proper hearing and the sanction must be supported by irrefutable evidence. It is astonishing that what was understood in England back in the 13th and 17th centuries has been completely forgotten and trampled by the British authorities in the 21st century.

We all remember the five unjust and shameful, anti-Georgian resolutions by which the European Parliament demanded the punishment of Bidzina Ivanishvili and the release of criminals. We all remember the unjust and shameful Ukrainian sanctions against Georgian politicians, civil servants and their family members, which were not supported by any facts or evidence. We all remember the anti-Georgian decision of Lithuania and Estonia to impose sanctions against Georgian politicians and high-ranking officials, which was also not based on any facts or evidence. It is extremely disturbing that a country like Great Britain has today been turned into just another toy by the “deep state”, the same global war party, just like Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia and the European Parliament.

Today, without any basis, the leader of the ruling party of Georgia is being threatened with sanctions, who freed Georgia from authoritarian rule, brought a democratic transition to the country, ended the systematic practice of murder and torture, business racketeering, media hijacking and election fraud in Georgia, maintained 12 years of uninterrupted peace in the country and tripled the economy.

If the UK imposes sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili, it will be clearly demonstrated that the “deep state” has reduced the UK to the level of Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia and the European Parliament, which, given the historical past of this state, should be considered an exceptionally tragic event.

If sanctions are imposed, the authority of the UK as a state based on the rule of law and fundamental human rights will finally be a thing of the past. However, given that the "deep state," or the global war party, has doomed numerous states to physical destruction, the moral destruction and decline of Great Britain is a much less tragic event," reads the statement.
