"Azerbaijan is not only a good friend to us but also a very good strategic partner. Naturally, strengthening this strategic partnership is a priority for us, and economic cooperation plays a particularly significant role in this regard," said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a press conference with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
He expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan for hosting the Georgian delegation and congratulating them on their electoral victory.
During the press conference, Kobakhidze reiterated Georgia’s readiness to contribute maximally to ensuring peace and security in the South Caucasus.
"Thank you very much, Mr. President, first and foremost, for your warm hospitality. I also want to thank you for congratulating us on our election victory. It is indeed very important for our partnership to ensure security and stability in our region, and in this regard, the cooperation between our two countries holds special importance.
You are an outstanding leader. Your efforts to protect the national interests of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people are exemplary. Therefore, visiting you is always a great honor for us and, personally, for me.
Today, the 10th meeting of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Cooperation Commission was held. It was a fruitful and productive meeting. I want to thank the Azerbaijani side for the high-level organization of the meeting and for hosting our delegation at such a high standard. This commission provides an excellent platform to discuss the further development of bilateral cooperation.
Our partnership and cooperation are built on a very solid foundation—traditional and historical friendship between our peoples. It is precisely this historical friendship that underpins the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan. I am confident that our partnership will continue in the same spirit in the future.
We had a very productive bilateral meeting during which we discussed cooperation between our two countries and examined the ongoing political processes in the region on a global scale. Naturally, these processes influence the political positions of our countries, and it is essential to tackle all challenges together. This was a key topic of our discussions during the meeting," stated Kobakhidze.
