“To this day, the administration of the Sheraton Batumi Hotel has not provided us with video footage of the organized attack against Giorgi Gakharia, which we officially requested and are entitled to receive under the ‘Law on Personal Data Protection,’” stated Berdia Sichinava, the Executive Secretary of the For Georgia party, during a briefing.
According to Sichinava, they are also actively communicating with Sheraton's headquarters, having already provided detailed information regarding the “organized attack at the hotel and the actions of the Sheraton Batumi administration.”
“During today’s communication with the Sheraton Batumi administration, a representative verbally indicated a 10-working-day timeframe. This raises legitimate suspicions of deliberate delay and potential concerns about the integrity and continuity of the video footage depicting the attack.
We demand the immediate release of the footage, which does not require any additional reasonable time to address technical issues.
The actions—or inactions—of the Sheraton Batumi administration staff failed to prevent the organized attack that occurred on the premises. Additionally, the failure to secure the scene of the incident raises further suspicions that the administration may be under pressure. This is directly indicated by the delay in handing over the video files, which, according to our information, are already processed and ready.
In parallel, we are maintaining active communication with Sheraton's headquarters, to whom we have provided detailed information regarding the organized attack and the actions of the Sheraton Batumi administration.
Meanwhile, those involved in the attack remain hidden and are avoiding public accountability. The group attack organized by Ivanishvili will not go unpunished! The organizers and accomplices of this crime will inevitably face justice.
Finally, and most importantly, we express our full support for the prisoners of conscience currently held captive by Ivanishvili. Our fight will continue until victory,” stated Sichinava.
