Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili explains why Georgia is not participating in the Davos Economic Forum. At a press conference held at the government administration, Davitashvili did not confirm the information that Georgia had not been invited and said that participation in the forum was usually the government's decision, and this year "it was not a priority."
"The government delegation does not participate in the Davos Economic Forum because it may not be a priority. Every time we participated, it was our decision and we attended the forum.
This year it may not be as productive as possible, and this year we may have a different priority, given the current situation.
We continue to dialogue and communicate with investors in a continuous mode. The media will also be informed about this. We will have positive information on investment decisions, so this process does not stop," Davitashvili said.
For information, Georgia will not participate in either the Davos Economic Forum or the Munich Security Conference in 2025. A few days ago, InterpressNews was told by the government administration that Georgia has not been invited to any of the events, although they also stated that “even if they receive an invitation, they will not be able to go.”
The Davos Economic Forum will be held on January 20-24.
