Temo Tskhvadze, another lawyer representing the Honorary Chairman of "Georgian Dream," Bidzina Ivanishvili, has issued a statement regarding the Swiss bank Julius Baer.

According to the lawyer, "the aforementioned Swiss bank is also implicated in the ongoing criminal case against Giorgi Bachiashvili."

"As has become known to the public, my client, Bidzina Ivanishvili's lawyer, issued a statement yesterday concerning the so-called Credit Suisse case and the unlawful actions of another Swiss bank, Julius Baer.

From the circumstances outlined in the statement, it is evident that my client faces additional obstacles related to managing his and his family members' assets, as well as other matters, due to the unlawful actions of the Swiss bank Julius Baer, where a significant portion of assets saved from Credit Suisse's illegal activities was transferred.

Specifically, Julius Baer has, for months, unjustifiably restricted access to information about account transactions, delayed execution of transfer instructions without cause, threatened to close personal bank accounts, and failed to fulfill its contractual obligations related to ensuring timely performance by hedge funds. Finally, the bank has misinterpreted so-called American sanctions and, in effect, subjected the bank accounts of Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family members to these sanctions.

It is noteworthy that the aforementioned Swiss bank is also implicated in the ongoing criminal case against Giorgi Bachiashvili. On July 3 and July 21, 2023, two motions for legal assistance were sent to the Federal Office of Justice of the Swiss Confederation. Based on these motions, full information and documentation were requested regarding accounts held at Julius Baer by Giorgi Bachiashvili and a legal entity also involved in the criminal case.

Unfortunately, without any explanation, the investigative body has yet to receive any response regarding the requested information or documentation. Consequently, such information is not available in the criminal case.

Given the specific facts derived from the criminal case and the circumstances outlined in the statement, my client has a reasonable basis to believe that Julius Baer is acting as another mechanism or tool for executing unlawful and baseless actions against Bidzina Ivanishvili. This is evidenced both by the illegal actions directed at Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family members and by the apparent concealment of information requested by the investigative body in the case of Giorgi Bachiashvili (in which Bidzina Ivanishvili is the victim)," the statement reads.
