Irakli Kobakhidze: We want to renew our relationship with the USA from a clean slate

The so-called "Deep State" is active in Europe, especially influencing the Baltic States, and this is reflected in Estonia as well. We remain in a one-sided friendship mode with Estonia," said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in response to a statement by the Estonian Parliament, which urges the European Commission to limit communication with the Georgian government and impose sanctions.

According to Kobakhidze, the Estonian Parliament's statement is an anti-Georgian one, and the only reason Georgia remains in a one-sided friendship with Estonia is the historical friendship between the Georgian and Estonian peoples.

"In a situation where there is pressure on the so-called 'Deep State' in the US, it has become more active in Europe, especially affecting the Baltic States, and this is reflected in Estonia as well. We remain in a one-sided friendship with Estonia. Such statements are unacceptable and clearly anti-Georgian, showing disrespect for the will of the Georgian people. We remain in a one-sided friendship with Estonia, based on the historical friendship established between the Georgian and Estonian peoples," said Irakli Kobakhidze.

Kobakhidze also focused on relations with the United States, emphasizing that the Georgian government is ready to renew relations with the US from a clean slate, based on a specific roadmap. However, according to him, this will depend on how well President Donald Trump's administration can defeat the so-called "Deep State" in the US.

"We are interested in resetting relations with the United States, and moreover, we have declared that we want to renew our relationship with the US from a clean slate, and we want to do so based on a specific roadmap, similar to the one created for the EU-Georgia relationship, such as the Association Agreement agenda.

"We are ready to renew our strategic partnership with the US based on specific target indicators. We are happy that we share common values with the new presidential administration, but much will depend on whether President Trump's administration can defeat the so-called 'Deep State' in the US. We are optimistic and ready to reset relations," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
