Irakli Kobakhidze: Any attempt to harm the country is doomed to failure – the opposition is acting with a self-liquidation plan

Irakli Kobakhidze - Any attempt to harm the country is doomed to failure – this applies to both the opposition and their protectors outside the country, said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in response to a question in Strasbourg regarding the possible suspension of the mandate of Georgia's parliamentary delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

As Kobakhidze told the media, he does not know what decision will be made, but added that such a decision would be unfortunate.

"I can't tell you what decision will be made. As for the actions of the opposition, their actions are fully coordinated from the outside by entities who do not wish for the country's progress and development, but for four years, they have not been able to achieve their goal. In this case, any attempt they make to harm the country is doomed to failure – this applies to both the opposition and their protectors outside the country," said Irakli Kobakhidze.

Moreover, according to Irakli Kobakhidze, the opposition is acting with a self-liquidation plan. He noted that the actions the opposition is taking after the elections are self-liquidation and weakening their own position.

"This is good for the development of our country's democratic system – the fewer radical parties and radicalism there are in the country, the faster the democratic system will develop. We welcome the weakening of our opposition," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
