Ms. Mzia is feeling normal. When I met her, her position was that she did not intend to end her hunger strike, and as far as I know, she remains in the same position today," said the Public Defender, Levan Ioseliani, during a briefing following the Ombudsman representative's meeting with Mzia Amaghlobeli, the founder of "Netgazeti" and "Batumelebi."
According to Levan Ioseliani, Mzia Amaghlobeli has no complaints regarding the conditions in her cell or the treatment by the administration.
"Our representative, who is a doctor by profession, has just returned. They met with Ms. Mzia. I would like to share the information we currently have about her, which we are sharing with her consent. Ms. Mzia is feeling normal. She has not been consuming food since January 12. Since her detention, Ms. Mzia has been visited by us seven times, including once personally by me. We are familiar with the conditions of her detention. I personally visited her cell. She has not expressed any complaints about these conditions. Regarding her treatment by the administration, Ms. Mzia also has no complaints. Her health is being monitored regularly; she undergoes medical examinations, and a doctor visits her three times a day to gather health updates.
Additionally, our representative reviewed all the medical documentation compiled during this period. We have requested this documentation and expect to receive it in the coming days. Furthermore, the representative spoke with the doctor and received additional information from them," stated Levan Ioseliani.
