It has been revealed that granting Giorgi Gakharia the status of a victim is fictitious, according to a statement issued by the party "Gakharia for Georgia."
The statement mentions that within the investigation, only one witness was formally questioned, which, in the party's view, is further evidence that the attack was ordered by Ivanishvili.
"We demanded that Giorgi Gakharia be recognized as a victim for one reason only: to see the case materials and get acquainted with the key evidence - the video recordings. Today, Giorgi Gakharia’s representative went to Batumi to review the case. It turned out that granting the status of victim is fictitious. The prosecutor's office did not give us the opportunity to view the video evidence, using a false pretext of sending the recordings for expert analysis, despite having copies. We were not provided with the interrogation protocol of the crucial witness, Zviad Khoridze. Additionally, it became clear that nearly two weeks after the attack, only one insignificant witness has been formally questioned.
All of this once again confirms that the attack was organized by Ivanishvili's order, and the prosecutor's office is carrying out Ivanishvili's task of destroying evidence and falsifying the truth.
The refusal to hand over crucial evidence once again points to the regime's motivation to exclude Ivanishvili’s role and conceal the premeditated and group-organized nature of the ambush attack,” the statement reads.
