During a meeting with Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, in the Carmelite Monastery, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán once again reaffirmed his support for Georgia in its dispute with Brussels. This information was shared by the Hungarian government spokesperson, Zoltán Kovács, on social media.
"During the meeting with the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán once again reaffirmed Hungary's support for Georgia in the dispute with Brussels. In addition to political cooperation, the leaders discussed economic and energy issues," wrote Zoltán Kovács.
According to Kovács, "Prime Minister Viktor Orbán emphasized that attacks from Brussels and the George Soros network against Georgia's peace-loving government should stop, and funding of its opposition by the European Union must cease. He also noted that Georgia is ready for EU membership and that its accession should happen as soon as possible."
"The leaders agreed that Hungarian-Georgian relations are built on common values, including cultural and Christian heritage and commitment to peace. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening investment and business relations in the coming years and expanding bilateral trade to match the strength of political ties," the Hungarian government spokesperson noted.
