According to Deutsche Welle, Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević has announced that he will resign.
“My call is for everyone to calm their passions and return to dialogue. I had a long meeting with the President of Serbia this morning. We talked about everything and he accepted my arguments,” - Miloš Vučević said. According to him, his decision is aimed at reducing tension in the country.
“In order to avoid further complications, to avoid further tension in society, I have made this decision,” Miloš Vucevic said.
A wave of student-led protests against government corruption in Serbia began after the roof of a railway station in the city of Novi Sad collapsed in November last year, killing 15 people. Protesters say the collapse was caused by corruption and shoddy construction work. Thirteen people have been charged over the incident, including former Serbian Transport Minister Goran Vesić, who resigned a few days after the collapse.
