Tina Bokuchava: Members of Ivanishvili's delegation only formally retain their mandate in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe until April – with the sole purpose of having new elections scheduled in the country

Sanctions will be imposed on members of Ivanishvili's delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which will prohibit them from membership or participation in committees, as stated by Tina Bokuchava, the chairperson of "Unity National Movement."

According to her, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will impose sanctions, which will prevent members of the "Georgian Dream" delegation from having the right to be part of committees or participate. They will only formally retain their mandate until April – with the sole purpose of having new elections scheduled in the country.

"Today, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will vote on a resolution that was adopted by the Monitoring Committee, which continues the sanctions policy against Ivanishvili’s regime. Following national sanctions, sanctions will also be enacted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where members of Ivanishvili's delegation will not have the right to be members or participate in committees, and they will only formally retain their mandate until April – with the sole aim of scheduling new, free, fair parliamentary elections that reflect the free will of the Georgian people.

Therefore, this is a very significant achievement and success for Georgian democracy, for the international non-recognition of Ivanishvili’s regime, for the sanctions policy, and for the final goal that today unites Georgian society, which is the release of political prisoners, the punishment of wrongdoers, and the scheduling of new, free, and fair parliamentary elections," said Tina Bokuchava.
