The Prime Minister on the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe resolution: This decision shows that European bureaucracy is in a difficult position – this concerns both Brussels and Strasbourg

This decision shows that European bureaucracy is in a rather difficult situation. This applies to both Brussels and Strasbourg. Another manifestation of this is the decision we saw today, - said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, commenting on the resolution adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

According to Kobakhidze, the resolution will not change the overall situation for the country.

"The decision was more absurd than unjust. Here's what they did: they approved our delegation, thereby recognizing the election results, but immediately stated that if elections are not held by April, they will revoke our country's delegation. So, they recognize the elections, but still want elections. Why? Because someone's favorite political force, called the 'Collective National Movement,' lost. This absurd decision shows that there is a serious situation in European bureaucracy. However, in the end, this will not change the overall situation for our country," said Kobakhidze on "Imedi Live."

For the record, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has called for new elections to be held in Georgia in the coming months, the release of political prisoners, and the continuation of the path toward Euro-integration.

Out of 134 deputies, 114 supported the resolution, 13 opposed, and 7 abstained.

After the adoption of this resolution, the "Georgian Dream" announced that it would cease its work in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
