Close cooperation is very important for us, in order to jointly protect the national interests of our countries, - Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze said at the 14th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia.
According to the Prime Minister, the relations, partnership and friendship between Georgia and Armenia have a very solid historical foundation.
"It is a great honor for me to participate for the first time as a co-chairman in the session of the Armenia-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, which is being held for the fourteenth time. Of course, these figures also emphasize the close cooperation that has been established between our two countries. I would like to note that I had a very interesting bilateral meeting with Mr. Prime Minister, where we discussed many issues related to our countries, relations between our countries, as well as ongoing processes in the world and the region.
Close cooperation is very important for us, in order to jointly protect the national interests of our countries. It should be noted that the regular high-level dialogue between our countries in various formats and close cooperation in all areas duly reflect our exceptionally successful cooperation, and we are pleased that this cooperation has concrete, tangible results. The special relationship between our countries does not stem only from our geographical proximity, our neighborhood. Our relationship, partnership and friendship have a very solid historical foundation. This is a distinctive friendship that binds the Georgian and Armenian peoples together. These are ties that are thousands of years old, and it is precisely on these ties, this friendship that the friendship that is also expressed in relations between governments is based. These relations have been translated into the signing of the Declaration of Strategic Partnership from a political point of view, which will take the cooperation between Georgia and Armenia to a new level, and this is a very good basis for us to further deepen our political relations and economic ties between the two countries. I am confident that we will use today's platform, this commission meeting, to the maximum extent possible to further strengthen and energize various existing formats of cooperation, deepen our multidimensional cooperation and identify possible new directions of cooperation,” the Prime Minister of Georgia said.
In addition, according to Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgia has always expressed its readiness and is now ready to promote and contribute to the establishment of stability and peace in the region, which is a necessary condition for the development and prosperity of countries.
According to him, Georgia is ready to cooperate with Armenian friends and partners on these issues.
“Georgia and Armenia firmly support each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I would like to thank you once again for your unwavering support for Georgia,” the Prime Minister noted.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the Georgian government continues to effectively work to improve the investment and business environment.
“We are pleased that Georgia is an attractive country for Armenian investors. Last year, Armenian investments in Georgia increased by almost 40%, which is why we are happy and are doing everything to create the most favorable environment for Armenian investors in our country.
For this, we have specific effective mechanisms designed for foreign investors. With these mechanisms, we will be able to provide appropriate assistance to even more investors from your country, if there is such interest,” the Prime Minister noted.
