Mzia Amaglobeli is a foreign-funded person, her organizations are funded from abroad, and none of her donors take responsibility for the violence that this woman committed against a police officer, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated when speaking about Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti.
As Kobakhidze noted in an interview with the media in Armenia, responsibility for Mzia Amaglobeli’s detention should be felt by those people who “have been inciting violence in Georgia for weeks and months,” including specific officials and diplomats.
“You know that a specific crime was committed in front of the cameras, when a specific person slapped a police officer, the head of the police in a specific region. This violation of the law was not related to journalistic activities, therefore, linking all this to the media is empty speculation.
I want to say one thing to everyone: when it comes to inciting something, all those people who called non-peaceful protests peaceful are inciters of the crime we are talking about today; all those who incited violence on the streets of Tbilisi are inciters of such violations. Accordingly, those people who incited violence in Georgia for weeks and months should feel responsible for the detention of Mzia Amaglobeli, including specific officials, diplomats, the radical opposition and others, they should feel responsible for the detentionof Mzia Amaglobeli, because they incited violence against the police. They have been doing this since the end of October. Those who incite violence in our country, especially violence against police officers, have no moral right to speak out about anything at all.
When it comes to Mzia Amaglobeli, specific donors should take responsibility. Mzia Amaglobeli is a person funded from abroad, her organizations are funded from abroad, and none of her donors take responsibility for the violence that this woman committed against a police officer. Each of her donors, each person who contributed money to her organizations is responsible for the partisan-political violence that Mzia Amaglobeli committed. If anyone wants to talk about something, they should first repent and express regret for inciting violence,” Kobakhidze said.
According to Kobakhidze, people who incite police violence want to overthrow the state, which “they used to do with Gakharia’s hands,” but now they are trying to do it in a different way. According to Irakli Kobakhidze, no one will be allowed to do this - "neither ambassadors, nor officials, nor the radical opposition, nor NGOs."
"As a lawyer, I say that when a person insults a police officer, the strictest measures should be applied to protect the state. The police represent the state, raising a hand against a police officer should be punished as strictly as possible. Naturally, this is the approach that law enforcement agencies use, and this should continue.
People who incite police violence want to overthrow the state, overthrow the police. Previously, they did this with the help of Gakharia, now they are trying in a different way. We will not allow anyone to do this, neither ambassadors, nor officials, nor the radical opposition, nor the NGOs that are funded from abroad to organize such provocations," Kobakhidze said.
