Vladimer Bozhadze: An investigative commission for the legal assessment of the "United National Movement" will be established next week and will operate for six months
  • According to Vladimer Bozhadze, a deputy from "Georgian Dream," consultations have already begun regarding the establishment of an investigative commission for the legal assessment of the "United National Movement."

As he stated in a conversation with journalists, the commission will be formed next week, and its work schedule and directions will be determined.

According to Bozhadze, the investigative commission will operate for six months.

"Consultations regarding the creation of the [investigative] commission have already started. Next week, the commission will be established, and details such as the work schedule and directions will be clarified. Of course, such a commission is important because, over the past 12 years that 'Georgian Dream' has been in power, there has been no legal assessment of the 'United National Movement' as a regime.

Of course, some of its leaders have served sentences—Mikheil Saakashvili is still in prison, while Kezerashvili, Adeishvili, and others have fled the country to evade Georgian justice. However, aside from the political assessment made by the Georgian people over the last 12 years, a legal assessment has never taken place. There were both subjective and objective reasons for this, but we are fulfilling our electoral promise. During the spring session, a commission will be established, which will work for six months.

We will remind our citizens what kind of regime the 'United National Movement' truly was—how much suffering, blood, and tears it brought to the country. We will also highlight those individuals who, now hiding behind newly rebranded political parties, are still attempting to return to power through violent means. And when they call 'Georgian Dream' a regime, we will remind them what a truly bloody regime actually means," said Bozhadze.
