Opposition members who were skeptical about the EMAAR project in Serbia are now buying apartments in those buildings. I think the same will happen here—both there and here, radicals have the same patron, and their only goal is to create obstacles to the country's development, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to journalists in response to opposition criticism of the planned investment from the UAE-based EMAAR group.

According to Kobakhidze, "the radical opposition must face reality."

"Our Arab partners laugh about this. They recalled the example of Serbia, where similar projects started about 6-7 years ago. This project was fully implemented. When this project began, exactly the same statements were made by the opposition there. Why is there such a similarity? Both there and here, radicals have the same patron, and their only goal is to create nihilism, some kind of obstacle to the country's development, but they will, of course, not achieve that. An interesting detail they told us: opposition members who were skeptical about the project in Serbia are now buying apartments in the buildings built by EMAAR. I think the same will happen here, this is the reality, and the radical opposition must face it," Kobakhidze stated.

Regarding the investment, Kobakhidze said that this is an unprecedented, largest investment in the history of independent Georgia.

"To give an idea, 6 billion represents 18% of our economy, and this investment will be implemented over the next 5 years. A very significant project will be carried out at two locations, which includes the creation of residential spaces as well as the development of various types of infrastructure, including educational infrastructure, hotels, medical and sports infrastructure, and so on. It is a project of unprecedented scale, which will be implemented in Tbilisi and Gonio, and we look forward to the start of this project. One interesting thing is that when the EMAAR group undertakes a project, they always complete it on time and with proper quality. Therefore, this project is in very reliable hands, and we are grateful to our partners for showing such interest in our country and implementing such an important project in our country," the Prime Minister concluded.
