The ruling team recalled members from the Parliamentary Delegation to the Council of Europe. In addition, members of Georgian Dream and People's Power in the Parliamentary Delegation individually addressed the President of the Assembly with a request to terminate their mandate.
The Bureau of the Parliament supported the issue of recalling members from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
As Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, stated at the Bureau meeting, "despite the recall of members, the delegation is not being abolished, the delegation remains."
Quotas in the Parliamentary Delegation to the Council of Europe were held by Georgian Dream and People's Power. The delegation members were: Tea Tsulukiani, Givi Mikanadze, Mariam Lashkhi, Eka Sepashvili, as well as with a reserve quota: - Levan Machavariani, Rati Ionatamishvili and Zviad Shalamberidze.
“We expect that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will return to its original values, which are based on respect for democracy and sovereignty,” - the Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Bureau meeting.
